During their City Council meeting on Monday, Storm Lake officials are expected to approve a call for a special city election.
The election follows the resignation of City Council member Kevin McKinney, whose resignation went into effect last week.
McKinney’s term was set to expire in December 2027, and the winner of the special election will serve the remainder of his term.
The special city election is scheduled for November 4th, 2025.
