March and Zhang, Together Finally

Shichao Zhang

Credit Morningside Piano Recital Series

Cellist Stephanie March and pianist Shichao Zhang met at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Quickly they discovered a common musical understanding and began performing together in chamber groups. It wasn't until now, ten years later, that they will finally perform a full recital as a duo. The program includes works by Piazzolla and Chopin, which we hear snippets of in this feature. Audience members will also hear a Beethoven sonata and a work by Foss that evokes the American frontier. The recital begins at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday in Eppley Auditorium.

Mark Munger first began listening to public radio as a child in the back of his Mom's VW Vanagon, falling in love with the stories on Morning Edition and Prairie Home Companion and the laughter of Click and Clack on Car Talk. Through KWIT, he was introduced to the great orchestras and jazz artists, the sounds of folk and blues, and the eclectic expressions of humanity. This American Life and Radiolab arrived in his formative college years and made him want nothing more than to be a part of the public radio world.
